The Holland Arts East Gallery is pleased to present Instructors of The Atelier, a group show featuring artwork by instructors of The Atelier Studio Program of Fine Arts in Minneapolis. Featured artists include Laura Tundel, Christine Mitzuk, Andy Sjodin, Kenneth Schweiger, Cyd Wicker, Lauri Meyer, and Jeff Limke.
The instructors of The Atelier Studio Program of Fine Arts are committed to furthering the tradition of realistic drawing and painting through classical methods of instruction. The work featured in this collection embodies the breadth of instruction provided to students attending The Atelier. Instruction that melds formal academic training with the influence of French Impressionists. American art students in the late nineteenth-century European art academies brought this combined education home to pass on to their own students. The Atelier Studio Program of Fine Arts has closely followed these original precepts, offering students the opportunity to master the fundamental principles in the classical discipline of realistic drawing and painting.
Operating as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit art education organization for over 50 years, The Atelier offers multiple study options year round. Their full-time four-year studio apprentice program aims to provide students with the education and skills needed to become a professional artist. For those looking for more flexibility or targeted areas of study, their part-time program has grown to include a large variety of classes from beginner to more advanced topics. For more intense short-term study, they also offer workshops and lectures that are open to part-time and full-time students.
